Chapter 1- Motion
The Big Idea: The motion of an object can be described and predicted.

Key Concept 1.1: An object in motion changes position.

Key Concept 1.2: Speed measures how fast position changes.

Key Concept 1.3: Acceleration measures how fast velocity changes.
Remember-- acceleration is a vector, so it has both size (could be speed) and direction. These three collisions
demonstrate acceleration's role in motion.

1. Acceleration in the direction of the motion = object speeds up

2. Acceleration in the opposite direction of the motion = object slows down

3. Acceleration at a right angle to the direction of the motion = object changes direction
