Chapter 3 of our books introduces gravity, friction, and pressure in relation to Newton's Laws. We first learned of these forces when we studied the role of unbalanced forces in Newton's First Law.

Before we begin, let us review two key concepts of Newton's Laws-- inertia and acceleration.

1. Section one of chapter 3 (3.1) focuses on gravity (g, which is 9.8m/s/s).

** What is gravity, anyways?

2. Section 3.2 notes that friction is a force that opposes motion.
