Did you know?

Chapter 2 in our Earth's Atmosphere book is all about weather patterns. Check it out, beginning on page 40!

What makes weather? The big idea here, according to our text book, is that some features of weather have predictable patterns. We can predict weather because we know that:

  1. The atmosphere's air pressure changes.

  2. The atmosphere has wind patterns.

  3. Most clouds form as air rises and cools.

  4. Water falls to Earth's surface as precipitation.

1. The atmosphere's air pressure changes.

We begin studying weather by learning about air pressure.

Here is more about how wind is generated from our school meteorologist.

2. The atmosphere has wind patterns.

Different forces affect wind. Learn about them here.

3. Most clouds form as air rises and cools.
